Being Labeled "North Austin-West Nashville" Stillwater, OK has been the Birthplace of many big names, most notable, Garth Brooks. Other Stillwater bands such as Jason Boland & the Stragglers, Cross Canadian Ragweed and No Justice helped spark the flame for the Red-Dirt sound. A mix of Southern rock and Country that is spreading all over Texas, Oklahoma and many surrounding states. What began as a way to have a good time and entertain friends on the weekends, the Ordinary Outlaws took the stage for the first time on Dec. 30, 2004 in the small town of Stuart. Founding member Jakus White(fiddle, vocals, lead guitar) lead the group before acquiring now lead singer, Jason Stringfellow on July 4, 2006. Jason wrote his first song "Leave Me Alone" on December 20, 2006 and second "Strawberry Blonde" two days later. The band continued playing local bars, along the way picking up Jon Hudson (bass) on New Years Eve 2007. In February 2009 the Outlaws acquired acoustic/rhythm guitar player, Larry Smith. Shortly after the final piece to the Outlaw line-up was added, Austin Akins (drums/percussion). It was by chance that they had crossed paths at one point or another, but by the end of their first rehearsal as a full band they had found all their answers. The band soon found they were heading in a new and honest direction. Since then the Ordinary Outlaws have taken their place alongside their Red-Dirt peers and predecessors the group has made a name for themselves the good old fashion way: one day at a time in dance halls, honky-tonks, at festivals and in bars across Oklahoma and into Texas and Kansas. The Group has been making big strides in the last few years, playing 200+ dates a year at venues that include: The Tumbleweed, Wormy Dog Saloon, Willies Saloon, Whiskey Jim's Saloon and The Lazy E Arena including events such as: Calf-fry,College Fest, The Red Dirt Music Fest, Red Dirt Rivalry, Kooterfest and the Tumbleweeds Annual Bedlam Bash. The Outlaws have shared the stage with many well known bands such as: Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, Asleep at the Wheel, Josh Gracin, Jason Boland, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Aaron Watson, Randy Houser, Pat Green, Randy Rogers Band, Stoney Larue, Reckless Kelly, Casey Donahue, Micky and the Motorcars, Wade Bowen, Jackson Taylor, No Justice, Bart Crow Band, Mark McKinney, Johnny Cooper, Roger Creager, Brandon Rhyder, Mike McClure Band, and Brandon Jenkins.
