Gatlin Gates formed in mid 2006, as an impromptu party band. The boys blend together a country feel with rock and blues. "Just imagine country with a Metallica solo!" This is how Cody has answered numerous times when asked what the band sounds like. They take alot of pride in all of their original music, in which alot of time has been sacrificed. They also have a wide variety of cover music that they like to play spanning from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Johnny Cash. They enjoy playing all styles and types of music, and they are known to occasionally break into a good heavy rock song, if they feel the mood is right. Cause as the late great Chris LeDoux said, "Even cowboys like a little bit of rock and roll!" Gatlin Gates transcends other sounds of many different genres. With soulful lyrics and a musical style all their own! They have a sound like no other band out there. They love to entertain, and keep the crowd going. Even a slow song can keep people rocking.
